"Less is more"
The necessity of forming a single functional area on the second floor of the central building in Patra and the conversion of two integrated, modular apartments, was the basic starting point for us. In the 1st and 2nd floor have a apartment in two apartments of 26 smg., the requirement of the owners was the construction of the building industrial nature and design with a view to balance aesthetics with functionality, using unpretentious decoration. Our goal in this project was the creation of a modern juvenile home with pleasant atmosphere, both inside and outside.
Our technical Office designed two independent studios, creating a space that evokes the design integrity of expensive rooms of a hotel with indoor specific construction, so that the room is divided into areas for virtual sleeping, eating and fun, diakrinomeno from two to three corners. In a small lounge (sofa and coffee table), in another corner of sleep (one bed) and third dining corner (a small kitchen cabinet and a table which, however, can be turned into Office). The materials used for the floors and two studios in single hosting space in living room, dining room and kitchen which were invested with Moroccan line is industrial screed, in colors of gray and white, open for to give all the required brightness at home but also to give a sense of a larger space. Pleasant surprises farm decorative wall, that is veneered with brick, giving one character "rustic" in space, while providing thermal insulation but also sound insulation properties. For the color of the walls chosen shades of beige and white giving an "opening" in space, with primary care to cover internal with total eco-primer coating.
All doors and Windows were replaced with aluminum Windows with double soundproof glazing total thickness 20mm. Additionally, placed shading systems for energy savings of up to 35%. In this philosophy we install new kitchen, cabinets, tile kitchen back even, as in modern electrical installation throughout the House. Also, given the old apartment and the problems that this entails, to combat the humidity we used insulating and used internal coatings on all walls with classic three-layer plaster mixture.
It was a difficult undertaking for our technical Offices such remodeling space, but the systematic study, our know-how and our experience was mainly the kinitirios power of winning a bet with the resistances between the building and the creator. The two lodges designed with the premise to "armed" with the bare essentials to live, based on the desire of their owners, and we did it in 26 sqm. and via scattered light from the large Windows and doors "opened", using natural materials, uniform daring surfaces, earthy options and simplicity of design, to create the owners a choice of simplicity and distinguishable life dynamic that exudes austerity our whole philosophy. The best way to prove that proper exploitation of available square, can with proportional and design, to maximize functionality and spaciousness, always without discounts in comfort and without aesthetic compromises.
